6" Ivy - Danish H.B.

Cissus Rhombifolia

Danish Ivy, sometimes also called Grape Leaf Ivy, is much softer in appearance than the classic Ivy plant. These leaves are larger and mildly glossy, with a soft almost velvety feel. Like other ivy plants, Danish Ivy is perfect for hanging baskets, but will also do well on shelves and mantles. They are very forgiving as a houseplant, meaning they are easy to grow. Being a tropical plant, Danish Ivy will grow better in higher humidity environments, like bathrooms, but you can raise the humidity around your plant by lightly misting the foliage with water once a week.

Sun_PartialShade.png Danish Ivy grow best in bright, indirect light; this will help promote more vibrant colors in the foliage. However, Danish Ivy can still grow in low to moderate light, the growth will just not be as vigorous.
Water2.png Water your plant regularly, allowing the top inch or so of soil to dry out before watering. To test, stick your finger into the soil to the first knuckle. If the soil feels dry, it's time to water. Discard any excess water that may drain out the bottom of your plant. Letting your plant stand in water, and overwatering, can cause root damage.
Danish Ivy will benefit from a monthly application of diluted fertilizer once a month during the growing season (Spring and Summer).
Trim your plant to maintain its size and shape. Regularly pruning of the longer vines will help keep your plant looking healthier and bushier.
