6" Hoya - Australis Grande H.B.
Hoya Sp.
Hoya Plants come in many different varieties, each one as unique as the next. Even though they are grown and loved for their unique and bold leaf patterns, these plants also produce clusters of small, star-shaped flowers that are highly fragrant. Hoyas are a naturally trailing vine, making them perfect for hanging baskets or growing up a trellis or other structure. Like most tropical plants, Hoyas prefer warmth and humiditiy; avoid sudden temperature changes. To keep the temperature and humidity around your plant consistern, it is best to keep it away from air vents and drafts. You can lightly mist the foliage with water once a week to help raise the surrounding humidity.
| | Hoyas grow best in bright, but indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can burn and scorch the leaves, but the occasional bit of early morning or late afternoon sun could be beneficial to your plant. |
| | Hoyas like the "soak and dry" method: water your plant thoroughly, allowing the 1 - 2 inches of soil to dry out before watering again. Discarding any excess water that may drain out the bottom of the pot. Avoid letting your plant stand in water. |
| | Hoyas can benefit from a monthly application of diluted fertilizer, but they can grow well without it. |
| | Pruning the long trailing stems will help keep your plant from looking leggy and stretched. Pruning will also help encourage new, healthy growth. |
