6" Tradescantia - Sweetness H.B.
Tradescantia Species
Inch Plants are easy to grow, and available in a few different color combinations: green and creamy white, purple and silver, and tricolored green, cream, and pink. They prefer more humid growing conditions. To help keep the humidity higher around your plant, lightly mist the foliage with water once a week. Do your best to keep it away from drafts so the temperature around your plant is consistent. Over time, your Inch Plant may become leggy and look a bit stretched. This is very common; simply prune off the stretched looking vines.
| | Grows well in bright, indirect light. Exposure to direct sunlight may cause burning and scorching to the leaves, and prolonged exposure to very bright, intense light may cause the leaves' color variations to fade. |
| | Water regularly, allowing any excess water to drain out the bottom of the pot. Discard this extra water. Water when the top inch or so of soil feels dry to the touch. To check, stick your finger into the soil to the second knuckle. If the soil feels dry, it's time to water your plant. |
| | Fertilizer every 4 to 6 weeks with a 50/50 solution of liquid fertilizer and water during the growing season (Spring and Summer). |
| | Regularly pruning and trimming your plant will encourage more growth, keeping your plant more full and bushy. Simply pinch off the stems as needy to maintain your desired shape and size. |
